They also have a store where you can get their maple syrup and maple candies - as well as Vermont T shirts and tourist items.
Awesome, quaint, real deal maple syrup place, great breakfasts. Only thing is that they serve their coffee in cups and saucers, and by the time it gets to the table, the saucer is full. No big deal tho, it tastes good ! Walk in there early in the morning, and you smell the coffee brewing, pancakes and fresh syrup, eggs, and bacon, and all the rest of the fixins! OMG!
In my opinion, this is by far the best breakfast place in the Killington/Rutland area. From the coffee to the inlets this place has it all. Always try the specials if they look good to you (had the sausage with gravy on a buttermilk biscuit and it was incredibly good). The wait can be slightly brutal, especially with parties of 5+. I highly recommend eating at the bar or coming in smaller groups but if you do end up having to wait, head downstairs to the gift shop for some Vermont made clothes/gifts
This is a great place if you love pancakes and real maple syrup!
This place is great! When I had a home in nearby Brandon Vermont - for five years my weekend guests from Canada, New York and Connecticut would insist on having pancake breakfasts here - during that time I was there almost every weekend! The place is charming - it is a real, working maple syrup house where you and your children can see the workings during the winter/spring months. I am now gluten free - buy my friends and guests love the pumpkin and other pancakes. I get by with a delicious cheese omelette! Now that I live across the state - I do not get down as often as I would wish - but all of my visiting friends who are skiing at Killington Ski or touristing through the Western side of Vermont - LOVE THIS PLACE and always talk about it after I suggest it.
The staff is very friendly -- but if it is a busy weekend or school break time - Holiday time - be prepared to wait as they are so popular they are filled to capacity
The restaurant is on General Ripley's former estate - his horse - Old John - who helped him lead a Civil War Brigade - is buried on the estate.
Love this place, the food is always very good. The pumpkin pancakes are excellent. Great place to take the family. It's very quaint and they have a gift shop downstairs with Vermont themed stuff. The owner is usually there greeting people at the door and the whole staff is super nice and friendly.
Nice place for breakfast & lunch. Must try the Canadian bacon. Very tasty can't find it anywhere else. Like that you can get breakfast till 2pm which is when they close. Also have gift shop downstairs. I love this line of tee shirts & fleece they carry. Both super soft. The tees come close to second skin.
